The word Thanksgiving, for most of us, is synonymous with Turkey. After you have a few moments to think about it, however, you will begin to remember all the other things Thanksgiving is associated with. One of these things is a parade. In the greater Phoenix Metro area, there aren’t many official Thanksgiving Day Parades, but there are other holiday events and parades that feature Thanksgiving themes. Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day Parade 2016
Fountain Hills is home to the official Thanksgiving Day Parade of Arizona. It starts at 9:00 AM on November 24th and features a “Hollywood Holidays” theme for 2016. With some 50 floats with marching bands, dance routines, and motorcycles, Fountain Hills is the place to be on the morning of Thanksgiving 2016. Technically, it is the last official Thanksgiving Day parade in the state of Arizona, but there are many other festivals and holiday parades that will keep you occupied over Thanksgiving Weekend 2016.
Gilbert Days 2016
Gilbert Days is a heritage festival in Gilbert AZ that lasts more than a week from November 10th to November 29th. At Gilbert Days 2016, you can spectate a rodeo, watch the Water Tower Lighting and Concert Event, take part in a 5K run, or catch some candy at the Gilbert Days Parade on November 19th.
Downtown Tucson Holiday Parade
On November 26th and November 27th, Tucson will be putting on a holiday parade at 6:00 PM. It is a bit of a drive from Phoenix, but is a great opportunity if you will be in the area.
