Should I wash my Mercedes-Benz vehicle by hand at home?

Washing a car at home vs using a commercial car wash

Should you wash your Mercedes-Benz vehicle by hand at home? When you have a luxury vehicle, you want to treat it the best, and sometimes this can lead to the confused notion that you should be washing it yourself, rather than using a commercial car wash. Actually, we would recommend leaving it to the commercial car wash. Keep reading below to learn why. Find your next luxury car here at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead.

Is washing your car at home better for your vehicle?

Some people have the fear that a commercial car wash will somehow be detrimental to their vehicle. Maybe this is because they don’t trust a machine to do the job right. However, we must keep in mind that these machines were designed by people, and they were designed to wash a variety of vehicles without scratching or denting them. In fact, most people are more liable to make a mistake at home.

Three benefits of choosing a commercial car wash for your car

There are several reasons to go with a commercial car wash for your Mercedes-Benz. While this is what we recommend, we will also note that if you still decide to wash your car at home, please buy the proper products to do so. Here are the reasons why we prefer a commercial car wash.

  • Commercial car washes use high water pressure, which most people won’t get from a hose at home. Thus, they save you time by getting rid of dirt much more quickly than you could.
  • At a reasonable price, you can get your car washed, waxed, and dried in a commercial car wash. At home, you’d have to buy the proper cleaning products, wax, and microfiber towels, which can be expensive. You may save money in the long run, or you may not, as these products will need to be replaced as well.
  • Commercial car washes are designed to be gentle on your vehicle, using the correct soaps and fabrics, and keeping your vehicle out of the sun. At home, you can mistakenly grab the wrong soap or wrong towel, or you could burn spots in your vehicle’s paint.
