The Evasive Steering Assist is one of the features you can get in the Mercedes-Benz Driver-Assist Package. Thankfully, you don’t need to do much to use this feature. You don’t need to turn it on or off, so there isn’t much to do there. But here’s how it works.

The Evasive Steering Assist detects objects in front of your car, such as a person, and helps you steer around the person in order to avoid a collision. It also helps you straighten your car in the other lane after you swerve around the person. It’s important to know this feature isn’t infallible. The best way to avoid accidents is to pay attention when you drive, and to drive with caution. The driver-assist features are a great way to assist your own driving awareness.
