Steps to sharing your Mercedes-Benz digital key with a second driver 

The video above moves fast. You can pause it, of course, but we’ve also written out the steps to sharing your vehicle here so you can easily review the process. We promise it’s a simple process, and you’ll love the convenience of being able to deactivate a shared key afterward, returning sole ownership to yourself. 

  • Place your spare key in your glovebox. 
  • Step out of your vehicle and close the doors. 
  • Open “Digital Key Handover” in your Mercedes Me app on your phone. 
  • Deactivate the spare key using your 4-digit pin. 
  • Handover the vehicle location to one of your contacts in the app. 
  • Have the second driver stand in front of your vehicle and unlock the doors. 
  • Activate the key using your 4-digit pin. 
  • Use the app to deactivate the key upon return.
