Ways to Celebrate Earth Day in Phoenix

Each year Earth Day arrives and many people don’t realize it until it’s here. To help you get in the spirit of Earth Day, we’re going to help you find a few ways to celebrate here in the Phoenix area. From attending events to educating yourself on ways to help our planet, there is something everyone can participate in.

2017 Earth Day in Phoenix

Every year Keep Phoenix Beautiful and Republic Services helps present an Earth Day event in Phoenix. This year it will be taking place April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Steele Indian School Park. There will be eco-classes, exhibitors, music, food and more. It is also a zero waste event with recycling and composting bins located throughout the park. In the spirit of the holiday, those attending the event are encouraged to take alternative modes of transportation such as Grid Bikes or the Light Rail.

2017 Earth Day at Phoenix Zoo

Phoenix Zoo is celebrating Earth Day on April 22, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be a day of games and activities that nurture nature. There will be activities that teach about water conservation, energy conservation, reducing waste, reusing, recycling and non-toxic cleaning. There will also be a garden pool planter making class, behavioral enrichment stations, a drumming circle and more. All of these activities are including with regular zoo admission. This is a great way for the whole family to learn more about conservation.
