Step-by-step instructions on how to change the air filter in your Mercedes-Benz C-Class
Pop the hood of your car.- There are 2 engine covers on many of the older models. Remove the plastic covering of the front cover. Newer models (like the photo to the right) may look different.
- Disconnect the air hoses on either side of the air box.
- For non-Mercedes-Benz models; Find the air filter box. It is usually a black, rectangular or square box located near the engine.
- Open the clamp located at the top of the airbox (nearest to the front window).
- Remove air box.
- Remove air filter cover. You’ll need to unscrew the cover in your Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
- Remove old air filter.
- If you see dirt or debris in the air filter box you can use a vacuum to clean it.
- Put the new filter inside.
- Refasten the air filter cover.
- Replace the air box.
- Replace the plastic covering on your engine.
- Reconnect the hoses.
- You are done!
