How do rain-sensing wipers work?

Each and every year automotive brands work hard to be able to present new and exciting technology features to drivers. These features are often entertainment focused or safety related. It can be interesting to see what these new technologies have to offer. Today we’re going to take a look at a few newer innovative features that are available on select Mercedes-Benz models.

Which Mercedes-Benz models have rain-sensing wipers?

One recently developed innovative safety feature that is now available on some Mercedes-Benz models is rain-sensing windshield wipers. This feature comes standard on the GLE and a variety of other models. These windshield wipers automatically adjust wiper frequency based on the amount of rainfall at any particular moment. The rear-window wiper also automatically activates if the front wipers are switched on when the driver shifts in reverse. This feature is very useful for keeping your attention on the road instead of fidgeting with the windshield wiper controls.
Another recently developed feature is adaptive highbeam assist. This is an optional feature on many Mercedes-Benz models. It uses input from a camera to automatically vary the range of your headlamps, based on the distance to oncoming vehicles and to those ahead of you. It’s engineered to maximize road illumination without creating glare for other drivers. This feature makes sure that you can always see and be seen by other vehicles on the road, no matter what time of day it is or weather conditions you are dealing with.
