Are you heading out on a solo journey? Artificial intelligence will be your copilot in the 2023 EQS and the Lucid Air. While you’ll have Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ to help you stay on the grid, the integrated AI in both models will help you develop a friendship with your car!

The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) comes with Voice Control with Natural Language Understanding. It allows you to utter typical phrases like, “Hey Mercedes, I’m cold,” and it will automatically adjust the temperature. It will learn your phrases and respond with friendly responses over time.

On the other hand, the Air equips Amazon Alexa Built-In, which brings a household name into your vehicle. It also lets you control vehicle functions by talking, like adjusting seat heaters, lighting, sunshades, navigation, etc.

Easy on the Eyes

The Mercedes-Benz outshines its competitor in display real estate. The 2023 EQS is available with the MBUX Hyperscreen, which spans up to 56 inches! It uses AI and surface-level commands to enhance operation across its three screens. Explore the content of its panoramic display below:

• Available 12.3-inch passenger display

The Lucid Air, on the other hand, also has an impressive command center. Its 5K glass screen measures 34 inches and spans from the left to the center of the dash. It goes without a similar passenger display that lets your copilot get in on the action.

Design Your Dream Vehicle

The 2023 EQS and the Lucid Air are both available in four trims.

Beyond choosing a trim, you’ll have to decide a color too. The Lucid Air is available in six colors, while the 2023 EQS is available in 10 colors. They share paint options from the grayscale plus a red paint option! Although the Air is available in Fathom Blue, the 2023 EQS is available in two darker blue hues—Twilight Blue and Nautical Blue—that are unavailable on the Lucid model.

Worship the Sky

These all-electric models help you worship the planet with their gas-free and emission-free power sources. Both models take this one step further with their panorama roofs! This unique roof option gives passengers sweeping skyward views, delivers an open-air feel, and illuminates the cabin with natural light.

The panorama roof on the 2023 EQS comes standard. The Lucid Air is available with a glass canopy roof. On top of this difference, only the 2023 EQS’ feature opens and ventilates to let in the breeze.

Confidence Comes Standard

Both models have standard safety suites that include confidence-boosting features. These standard systems from Mercedes-Benz are quite similar to a few on the Air’s DreamDrive suite:

• Active Blind Spot Assist
• Active Lane Keeping Assist
• ATTENTION ASSIST®
• Front and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with pedestrian detection and automatic braking
• Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®

You’ll also find a Surround View System on either vehicle, which uses cameras pointing in all four directions to compose a live overhead view of your immediate surroundings. This feature is standard on the 2023 EQS. The Air’s DreamDrive Pro system introduces a Surround View Monitoring system that is available at an additional cost.

Safety Sense

The 2023 EQS is just getting started with safety. This model offers even more driver-assistance features that are unavailable on the Lucid Air, including:
