Mercedes-Benz partners with the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund. This luxury brand helps put veterans and children of fallen soldiers through their college education. Through this fund, Mercedes-Benz and all participants in the Fund can help honor those fallen and create an opportunity for their families.
The nonprofit Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund began in 2014 after the death of Colonel John McHugh where he was killed in action in Kabul, Afghanistan on May 18, 2010. Originally, this fund began as a way to get his five children through college. Now, this fund has grown to helping veterans and children of fallen service members all around the nation. This fund has now helped over 1,000 students and raised over $7.5 million for college scholarships.
The Fund has a variety of scholarships and education programs for veterans and military family members. Some of the programs the Fund is a part of includes Folds of Honor, Army Scholarship Foundation, Freedom Alliance, and Commit Foundation. For people who are interested in being involved in the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, there are plenty of opportunities the Fund has available. More information can be found at www.johnnymac.org.
