2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs Lexus IS
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Lexus IS fall from the same tree. As products of the 1990s, they have more similarities than differences and they compete directly for the top luxury-compact spot in the world. One comes from Germany. The other from Japan. Together, they offer the most comfort, luxury, and performance you can get for less than $50,000.   The C 300 and the IS Turbo are the base trims for their respective models. Under the hood, you will find a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine. These engines both make the same amount of horsepower at 241, but the C-Class pulls ahead in the torque category with a surplus of 15 lb-ft. This extra torque may not seem like much on paper, but it helps the C-Class get to 60 miles per hour almost a full second quicker than the Lexus IS.

Mercedes-Benz Power, Efficiency, Technology

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Lexus IS are both world-class sedans, but you can't argue with the numbers behind the Mercedes-Benz. Not only does it provide more power to the rear wheels, but it also saves more gasoline while it does it. With the help of AMG®, smart, and other Daimler AG brands, Mercedes-Benz has nearly perfected the combustion engine and the modern automobile all together, and we didn't even discuss driver assistance yet!  We aren't saying Lexus doesn't have driver-assistance features. It certainly has some of the best in the industry with PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM and BLIND SPOT MONITOR, but where the IS shines, the C-Class beams. The 2017 C-Class is available with DISTRONIC PLUS® adaptive cruise control, Brake Assist®, ATTENTION ASSIST®, and Crosswind Assist®, among others. The C-Class also comes with more driving modes, allowing drivers to customize the way their C-Class drives for any situation. If you have any questions about why the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of the best luxury sedans in history, come to Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead today for a test drive.
