What are the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim levels?

Differences between the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim levels

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is an impressive SUV that exists almost at the top of the Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup with only the GLS and the G-Class above it. If the GLE is interesting to you, then perhaps you want to learn the differences between the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim levels. At Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead, we will walk you through it.  You can also check out our current new GLE inventory by clicking the link below.

What trim levels are there for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

In all, there are five trim levels available for the 2022 GLE. The lineup begins with the GLE 350. Above that, you get the 350 4MATIC®, GLE 450 4MATIC®, and the 580 4MATIC®. You may be saying, wait, that is only four trim levels. We will get to that last top trim level eventually. First, let’s explore these four.

Feature differences between 2022 GLE trim levels

All of these trims have great features like a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless charging, or even optional features like augmented video for navigation. Though there are subtle feature differences such as the AIRMATIC suspension on the GLE 580 4MATIC® most of it comes down to performance.

The GLE 350 models get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The GLE 450 4MATIC® gets a 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo with 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque with an integrated starter generator (ISG) that adds up to 21 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, the GLE 580 4MATIC® gets a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo with 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque with the same ISG.

Is there a 2022 Mercedes-AMG® GLE model?

You may have already guessed, but the top trim of the GLE is a Mercedes-AMG® GLE model. It’s called the Mercedes-AMG® GLE 53. Here it does get a little confusing. You will of course get the AMG® style, but the engine doesn’t have the best performance out of the lineup.

Instead, the Mercedes-AMG® GLE 53 utilizes an enhanced version of the GLE 450 4MATIC® engine. This 3.0-liter turbo engine uses the same ISG technology but ups the engine’s horsepower to 429 and the torque up to 384 pound-feet.
