What Is the Warranty Coverage on a Mercedes-Benz Hybrid Battery?

Mercedes-Benz Hybrid Battery Warranty Coverage Length

When you’re shopping for a Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid, it’s natural to have questions about your warranty coverage. The battery is an important part of the vehicle’s hybrid system, so it is worth knowing what warranty protection comes with it. At Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead near Phoenix, AZ, we often hear questions about how long a Mercedes-Benz hybrid battery is covered and what the mileage limit is. Let’s explore the warranty coverage on a Mercedes-Benz hybrid battery.

How Long Is a Mercedes-Benz Hybrid Battery Covered?

The high-voltage battery in a Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is covered for six years or 62,000 miles, whichever comes first. For example, if a vehicle reaches 62,000 miles before six years have passed, the mileage limit applies first. If six years pass before the vehicle reaches 62,000 miles, the time limit applies first.

This coverage is specifically for the high-voltage battery and is separate from other warranty coverage.

What Is the High-Voltage Battery?

A Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid uses a high-voltage battery to store electrical energy for the hybrid powertrain. The vehicle can use this stored energy to provide electric driving capability while also using its gasoline engine when needed.

Because the battery is an essential part of the plug-in hybrid system, its warranty coverage is an important consideration when buying or owning one of these vehicles.

Does the Warranty Apply to Mercedes-Benz Plug-In Hybrids?

Yes. The six-year or 62,000-mile limited warranty applies to the high-voltage battery on Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

We can help you understand the warranty coverage for the vehicle you’re looking at. We can also answer questions about the hybrid system, charging, and other features.

What About a Used Mercedes-Benz Plug-In Hybrid?

If you’re considering a pre-owned Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid, it’s important to look at both the vehicle’s mileage and its in-service date. Those details can help determine how much of the six-year or 62,000-mile high-voltage battery limited warranty may remain.

Our team at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead can help you review the vehicle’s information and better understand its remaining warranty coverage.
