What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Edition 550?

Mercedes-Benz USA announced the new G-Class Edition 550 on its official Facebook page. The G-Class Edition 550 will be limited to only 200 units, and as the name implies, the G-Class Edition 550 will be based on the G550 trim level.   

The limited-edition model will carry the same unmistaken exterior of the 2022 G-Class, but it will be offered in three exciting finishes, namely Jupiter Red, Arabian Grey, and Mercedes-Benz’s newest MANUFAKTUR color Moonlight White. This unique is usually reserved for Mercedes-Benz’s MANUFAKTUR bespoke division and gives the G-Class Edition 550 a touch of class.  

The bespoke magic continues with a new exclusive interior color scheme inside the cabin. The interior of each G-Class Edition 550 is equipped with an extensive range of luxurious options, including two-tone Nappa Leather upholstery with diamond stitching and Active Multicontour Seats, and unique Carbon Fiber trim.  

It will also flaunt exclusive Edition 550 badges featuring the G-Class silhouette on both the center console and behind the front wheel wells outside, complimenting the iconic V8 badging. 

What’s under the hood?

Powering the G-Class Edition 550 will be the same 4.0-liter V8 engine that powers the standard model. The V8 makes 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph is made in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed limited to 130 mph.
