Powertrain and Performance

Every 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine with ISG and a 48V electrical system. It produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft normally, but with EQ Boost activated (that’s what the ISG and 48V electrical system are for), those numbers temporarily increase to 275 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Yes, you read that right, an additional 148 lb-ft of torque. At the time of writing, Mercedes-Benz has not yet revealed the transmission options. FWD is standard, but 4MATIC AWD is available.

Speed and Acceleration

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph and can do 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. That acceleration time trounces other similar displacement turbo-four engines. Similar engines in this class tend to do 0-60 mph in somewhere between 7-9 seconds.
