Active Brake Assist

Active Brake Assist uses radar-based sensors to monitor the traffic ahead. If it senses you’re closing in on another vehicle or object too quickly, it instantly alerts you. When you apply the brakes, the system automatically adds the right amount of braking power to help avoid an accident or reduce impact. If you don’t respond in time, it can even brake on its own at various speeds. This feature can also detect crossing pedestrians in city traffic, giving you an extra layer of protection when driving through busy streets.  

ATTENTION ASSIST®

Long highway drives can sometimes make even the most alert drivers drowsy. ATTENTION ASSIST® steps in as your on-road companion. It continuously tracks over 70 different driving behaviors, like steering movement and acceleration patterns, to detect signs of fatigue. When the system senses that you’re losing focus, it issues a visual and audible warning. It can even recognize if you begin your trip already tired. The dashboard display also offers valuable feedback to help you stay alert throughout your journey.

Blind Spot Assist

Changing lanes can be tricky, especially when vehicles hide in your blind spot. Blind Spot Assist utilizes radar sensors to detect vehicles approaching from behind and to either side of you when driving at speeds above 20 mph. If a vehicle enters your blind zone, a red warning light appears on the appropriate side mirror. Should you activate your turn signal while another car is in that area, the system issues an audible alert. Once parked, the Exit Warning Assist function can alert you or your passengers to approaching cyclists or vehicles before opening a door, helping to prevent accidents even after the car has stopped.  

Crosswind Assist

Anyone who’s driven on an open highway during gusty weather knows how unsettling strong side winds can be. Crosswind Assist constantly evaluates data from the car’s Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), steering, and suspension sensors. When a powerful gust hits your vehicle, the system applies subtle braking on one side to help maintain your course. Whether it’s from passing trucks or sudden weather shifts, this feature keeps your Mercedes-Benz steady and composed at high speeds.
