How to Use HANDS-FREE ACCESS in the 2024-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQB

1. Ensure the Key Fob is Nearby- For the system to work, the key fob must be within a certain proximity of the vehicle. Typically, it should be in your pocket or bag or within a few feet of the rear bumper.  

2. Position Yourself Correctly- Stand at the rear of the vehicle with both feet firmly on the ground. Ensure you’re centered in front of the bumper where the sensor is located.  

3. Perform a Smooth Kicking Motion- Using a straight and deliberate kick under the rear bumper, move your foot in and out without pausing. Avoid swiping or side-to-side motions, as these may not trigger the sensor correctly.  

4. Wait for the Liftgate to Open or Close- Once the system detects the motion, the liftgate will open or close automatically. If the movement is not recognized, repeat the motion carefully.  

5. Adjust Liftgate Height if Needed- You can customize the liftgate’s opening height based on your preference. Stop the liftgate at your desired height and hold the close button until you hear a beep, setting it for future use.
