What Can You Do to Prevent Car Sickness?

  • Do not eat heavy food before the journey. Heavy food takes longer to digest. It can aggravate the feeling of nausea. Have light meals.
  • While in the car, stay away from screen time. Put down your phone. Avoid reading a book. Look out of the window. Staying off-screens will minimize the symptoms of car sickness.
  • If you are planning to travel in an air-conditioned car for a long distance, it would be wise to switch off the air conditioner occasionally and wind down the windows. The feeling of suffocation inside a confined, air-conditioned car can increase the likelihood of you getting car sickness.
  • You can rely on kitchen remedies and carry some ginger candies for the journey. If nothing works, you can have over-the-counter medicines to prevent car sickness.
  • Sleeping through it is one of the most effective solutions to combat car sickness. You can use a pillow for additional comfort.

Follow these tips and see how much of a difference it makes on future road trips.
