Step-by-step instructions on how to change the air filter in your Mercedes-Benz C-Class

1. Pop the hood of your car.
2. There are 2 engine covers on many of the older models. Remove the plastic covering of the front cover. Newer models (like the photo to the right) may look different.
3. Disconnect the air hoses on either side of the air box.
   1. For non-Mercedes-Benz models; Find the air filter box. It is usually a black, rectangular or square box located near the engine.
4. Open the clamp located at the top of the airbox (nearest to the front window).
5. Remove air box.
6. Remove air filter cover. You’ll need to unscrew the cover in your Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
7. Remove old air filter.
8. If you see dirt or debris in the air filter box you can use a vacuum to clean it.
9. Put the new filter inside.
10. Refasten the air filter cover.
11. Replace the air box.
12. Replace the plastic covering on your engine.
13. Reconnect the hoses.
14. You are done!
