How Safe is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Luxury SUV?

While car buyers love to hear about the performance, fuel economy, and technology features in a new vehicle, many forget about overall safety. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC offers a variety of advanced safety features designed to prevent an accident and lessen the blow in the case of a crash.

Standard Safety Features in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV

The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has many standard safety features that help keep everyone in the vehicle protected. Seven airbags, a high-strength steel body, and more all minimize the physical impact in a crash. However, you also don’t want an accident to happen in the first place. That’s why many assistive technologies are designed and installed on every GLC. These include a rearview camera, blind spot monitor, adaptive braking system, ATTENTION ASSIST®, and much more!

In the case of a major crash and the potential to rollover, the GLC is prepared with its PRESAFE®* innovative technology. If a situation arises where the vehicle is unstable, then the front seat belts are tightened, the front passenger seat adjusted, and all windows are closed. If you don’t end up getting into an accident, you can readjust the seat and open the windows back up.

Available Driver Assistance Package

Of course, the GLC offers opportunities to maximize your protection on the road. For example, add the Driver Assistance Package for features like Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, Active Blind Spot Assist, and more! Depending on the trim you pick, the features available with this package will vary.

There are so many safety features included and available in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC that it is hard to name them all in one blog. *PRESAFE® closes the side windows when the system’s sensors detect side movements that suggest a possible rollover. A small gap is left near the fully closed position. Seat and head restraints adjust only when equipped with memory system.
