Mercedes-Benz AMG stands for Aufrecht Melcher Gorssaspach. Aufrecht and Melcher are the last names of partners Hans Werner and Erhard who worked together to develop AMG and Grossaspach is the village where Aufrecht was born. These three letters also represent worldwide supreme automotive performance, exclusivity, efficiency and highly dynamic driving pleasure.

This year Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its 50 anniversary. To celebrate, Mercedes-Benz has revealed some extensive upgrades to the AMG GT family of vehicles. All new 2018 models in the AMG GT family will be identifiable by the striking AMG Panamericana grille. This grille features 15 chrome-plated vertical bars. There will also be a new bumper that puts a focus on the car’s width. This updated family of vehicles will include the Mercedes-AMG GT, Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster, Mercedes-AMG GT S, Mercedes-AMG GT C, Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster and Mercedes-AMG GT R, as well as the all-new AMG GT C Edition 50. The Edition 50 model will include some exclusive detailing to help celebrate this exciting milestone.
