The latest update allows DRIVE PILOT to operate at speeds of up to 95 km/h on Germany’s 13,191 km Autobahn network. Once activated, drivers are legally allowed to relax and focus on other activities, whether streaming a movie, catching up on work, or simply taking a break. At the same time, the car handles the drive under certain conditions.  

Safety Through Redundancy  

Safety remains central to DRIVE PILOT. Critical functions like braking, steering, and electrics are duplicated to maintain reliability. The system relies on more than 35 sensors, including LiDAR, radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors, combined with highly accurate digital maps. If the driver fails to take back control, DRIVE PILOT will bring the vehicle to a controlled stop, activating hazard lights for maximum visibility.
