To bring this vision to life, Mercedes-Benz partnered with the globally respected Vegan Society. Every soft-touch surface in the Vegan Package, ranging from seats and steering wheel upholstery to headliners, door panels, pillars, and carpets, has been carefully tested. As a result, all MB-Tex surfaces and textiles used inside the cabin are completely free from animal-derived materials. Just as important, no animal-based ingredients or additives are used at any stage of production.

Before certification, Mercedes-Benz conducted extensive audits of existing interior materials and manufacturing processes. Whenever traces of animal-based components appeared, suppliers worked closely with the brand to develop suitable alternatives. Meanwhile, each revised material had to meet Mercedes-Benz standards for durability, feel, and visual appeal. Following this process, nearly 100 individual material components passed independent audits to earn the Vegan Society’s respected Vegan Trademark.
With the all-new electric GLC, the Vegan Society has awarded its trademark to a vehicle interior for the first time. This milestone demonstrates how the 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC sets a new standard with a vegan society–certified cabin, covering high-contact areas such as the center console, instrument panel, sun visors, and even the trunk carpet.
