2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Release Date and Changes

After making its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt International Auto Show, the redesigned 2018 S-Class Coupe is ready to roll into U.S. showrooms with extensive innovations and updates. New highlights include additional driver assistance systems, the latest infotainment and comfort systems, a new Widescreen Cockpit, and a newly designed steering wheel. Infotainment and Comfort

The new S-Class Coupe is equipped with the latest-generation COMAND® Navigation infotainment system, displaying key information like real-time traffic density, weather, gas stations with current fuel prices, and free parking spaces. A new Near Field Communication system transforms the smartphone into a digital vehicle key. The system also enables wireless smartphone charging via a charging pad in the center console.
A new ENERGIZING Comfort system links various comfort features such as ambient lighting, climate control, aromatherapy, and massage and allows drivers to create a specific setup for enhance their comfort level and boost their mood behind the wheel. Depending on the chosen equipment level, up to six comfort features are available: joy, comfort, freshness, warmth, vitality, and training.

Facelift and Redesign

The redesigned S-Class Coupe oozes athletic sophistication, sporting a new front bumper with a chrome-plated front splitter and voluminous air inlets. The facelift is enhanced by restyled side skirts and chrome-plated twin tailpipe trims. New OLED taillamps use organic light emitting diode technology to emit a consistent light pattern in all directions and form a unique day and night design. The taillamps also respond to the locking and unlocking of the coupe by dimming-up or –down.
The coupe’s cabin offers three new trim lines—designo magnolia flowing linesHigh-Gloss Brown Burl Walnut, and Satin-finish Ash Grey—and one new upholstery design—designo Exclusive Nappa leather Porcelain/Tizian Red. Two new high-resolution displays blend into a Widescreen Cockpit that displays key information in the driver’s line of sight. The newly-designed steering wheel features Touch Control buttons that respond to swiping motions like a smartphone.

The redesigned 2018 S-Class Coupe will arrive at U.S. dealerships in mid-2018.
