With the arrival of 2022 models, we can expect to see the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport, both of which can be viewed on their respective OEM websites. Both of these vehicles are expected to bring fierce competition to the small sedan segment, and we’ll do our best to compare them below in three main areas: style, technology, and safety. Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs Lexus IS – style  

Style is important when you’re buying a luxury sedan. Design elements are upgraded inside and out for luxury vehicles. Some areas that are particularly important include seating and lights. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will offer an LED Intelligent Light System with Adaptive High beam Assist and LED tail lamps. For seating, it has heated front seats with memory and lumbar support, and available Nappa leather upholstery. 

The Lexus IS 500 F Sport is aimed to be more athletic. It offers front sport seats and race-inspired details. For lighting, it has LED headlights, tail lamps, and daytime running lamps.  

Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs Lexus IS – technology  

Some of the key technology features in the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class include an 11.9-inch center touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and available 4MATIC AWD (all-wheel drive). One thing we want to highlight is that it has a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. This is the same technology used in many smartphones. 

The standard touchscreen in the Lexus IS 500 F Sport is an 8-inch model. If you want something a bit larger, you can opt for the Navigation Package, which offers a 10.3-inch touchscreen multimedia display. Based on current information, we are unsure of the size of the instrument cluster or whether fingerprint scanners are available, although we would guess not.

When it comes to top-of-the-line vehicles, of course, they will all offer the best in airbags, seatbelts, and driver-assist features. Both of these vehicles get our stamp of approval for safety. Some safety features on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class include standard Adaptive High beam Assist, Attention Assist, and many driver-assist features for safe highway driving and safe parking.  

The Lexus IS 500 F Sport will offer similar functionality in safety features. Adaptive headlights are a standard feature as well. Many driver-assist technologies are available, although we are unsure of the availability of Attention Assist at the time of this writing.
