The 2021 CLS 450 sports a 362-horsepower I6, RWD, and a nine-speed automatic transmission. AWD is available. Technology-wise, it comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, GPS-linked navigation, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a touchpad controller, and USB ports. Standard driver assistive features include Pre Safe, Car-to-X Communication, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, crosswind assist, vehicle exit assist, driver drowsiness monitoring, and a rearview camera.

The AMG CLS 53 has an AMG-tuned version of the turbocharged I6 that produces 429 horsepower. It also gets standard AWD. Other performance enhancements include an air suspension, an AMG exhaust, and high-performance brakes. Wireless device charging, a 13-speaker Burmester stereo, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 360° parking camera system, parallel and perpendicular parking assist, and rear cross traffic alert are also standard.
