As you may have guessed, the \u201cM\u201d continues along the trend and stands for Erhard\u00a0Melcher, who is another one of the founders. The \u201cG\u201d of the AMG\u00ae is for their hometown, Gro\u00dfaspach. So, that would mean that when you see AMG\u00ae in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, it stands for Aufrect Melcher Gro\u00dfaspach.<\/p>\n

Why do Mercedes-Benz vehicles have AMG\u00ae attached to some trims?<\/h3>\n

If you see the letters \u201cAMG\u00ae\u201d attached to a trim of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, this means that the trim has an AMG\u00ae engine. An AMG\u00ae engine provides more power and performance than a Mercedes-Benz trim that doesn\u2019t have this engine.
