To drive semi-autonomously, the 2019 A-Class Sedan utilizes improved camera and radar systems to keep a close eye on surrounding traffic situations up to more than 1,500 feet ahead. Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® – provides route-based support and adjusts speeds when approaching bends, junctions, or roundabouts
Active Emergency Stop Assist – Uses sensors to detect objects ahead and stop the vehicle if necessary
Active Lane Change Assist – Uses sensors and radar to assist in safely changing lanes
Active Brake Assist (Standard) – Helps to mitigate or avoid the consequences of rear-end collisions with slower-moving or stopped vehicles ahead
Active Lane Keeping Assist – Warns the driver by means of pulsed vibrations in the steering wheel when the sedan drifts out of its lane
PRE-SAFE® PLUS – Recognizes an imminent collision and prepares the vehicle for impact in various ways
