Mercedes-Benz is an innovative automotive brand. It is always coming up with new features and capabilities that are exclusive to the Mercedes-Benz brand. Today we’re going to take a look one of these features, which is the 4MATIC® All-wheel Drive system. We’ll take a look at what this feature is capable of and which models offer this feature.
The Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC® all-wheel drive system helps you get the most traction by precisely engaging all four wheels. It is more than just all-wheel drive. Under normal conditions, the system can channel the engine’s torque to the front and rear wheels through a center differential for quick response and handling. The 4MATIC® systems automatically adapts to different driving situations so you always have maximum traction and control. This system will help you feel confident wherever the road leads.
The 4MATIC® system helps shift the vehicle’s weight toward the front wheels, which makes them work harder. When the vehicle accelerates, the weight is shifted to the rear and when rounding a corner, the weight shifts toward the tires on the outside of the turn. By doing this, each wheel always has optimum grip and torque.
Many Mercedes-Benz models come available with the 4MATIC® system. These models include the CLA-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS-Class, GLA-Class, GLC-Class, GLE-Class and GLS-Class.
