How far can the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Sedan go on a tank of gas?

All of the sedan models have a 21.1-gallon fuel tank. So, assuming driving and road conditions are up to par and you receive the EPA-estimated fuel economy^1. of whichever trim you chose, you can end up going pretty far in your S-Class. If you begin on a highway in the S 450, you can potentially get 590.8 miles. Of course, this is a best-case scenario, not considering traffic, and not considering the city portion you’d need to go to reach the highway. Still, this is an admirable number of miles for such a powerful vehicle.

As you may have noticed, the fuel economy^6. declines as the power increases, until the most powerful model, AMG® S 65, has an EPA-estimated fuel economy^6. of 13 miles per gallon in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. However, this reduced fuel economy^6. is compensated for with the intimidatingly powerful engine, which gives you 621 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. The rest of the trims are in a happy middle area of these two extremes.
