2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Release Date and Updates

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class debuted in 2016 with several technical innovations from the luxury automaker, including a new level of intelligence and a new infotainment and control system. Since then, the E-Class has been a symbol of intelligence and innovation in the Mercedes-Benz model lineup. For 2019, the E-Class will gain two new model designations: the E 450 and the E 450 4MATIC®* for the Sedan, Coupe, Cabriolet, and Wagon configurations. The new designations will replace the current E 400 and E 400 4MATIC®* variants. Continue reading for more information about the 2019 E-Class release date and updates.

What’s New?

The E-Class family will receive numerous changes and updates for 2019, both inside and out. The 2019 E 450 4MATIC®* Sedan and Wagon, as well as the E 450 and E 450 4MATIC®* Coupe and Cabriolet variants, will replace the current E 400 and E 400 4MATIC®* designations. The 2019 E-Class models will be available for sale in the U.S. by fall of 2018. 

For easier access to the model’s advanced safety assistance systems, a new three-spoke Nappa Leather multifunction steering wheel features controls that allow the driver to operate all the systems without taking their hands from the wheel. Additional updates include new center consoles for the two additional trim options, new 19″ AMG® wheels with the Night Package, and a newly available Rear Safety Package.

All 2019 E-Class models will also be equipped with route-based speed adaption, which uses a broad scope of map and navigation data to assist the driver in safely navigating different driving situations and roads.

Engine Updates

An upgraded 3.0L V6 biturbo engine will rest under the hood of the 2019 E 450 and E 450 4MATIC®* models. The refined engine is both more powerful and more efficient, generating an additional 33 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque. The engine’s maximum output is 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
